Live and exclusive Google android fullscreen demo videos and photos

Today i've found a post on androidcommunity
in which there are some exclusive videos and photos demo about android.

The first video, is an overview of the new interface and menu structure, including the clever pattern-based unlock screen.

Next up, Google’s Street View gets the Android treatment with a built-in compass.

Google briefly touched on their work with developers, including the latest round of entries in their Android Developers Challenge. Do you remember pacman?

In this last video, a demo of Google Maps, you can see how closely the Android experience matches that of the desktop. All of the usual mapping options are present - satellite views, traffic, etc. - and, with a 3G network, load and update quickly.

Make old extensions works with Firefox 3

The beta releases of Firefox 3.0 was released some days ago.

In Every release of a new beta version some of our old firefox extensions and add-ons become not more usable.
In the latest release of Firefox, exactly 3.0rc1 , almost none of them work.

There's an easy solution to this problem and it come from computerworld.com.au

THEY repeats:DO NOT TRY THIS unless you are comfortable editing the advanced preferences of your browser. And don't do anything until you've read through this entire post.

1) Type about:config in Firefox 3.0rc1
2) Add a new Boolean var
3) Type extensions.checkCompatibility
4) Set it to false
5) Restart Firefox

When the browser comes back up, version checking is disabled so the browser could warn you about this. You can double-check "Tools:Add-Ons" to make sure everything is activated once again.

If this procedure fails you have to go manually to your prefs.js and remove the var that you inserted in the step 3.

Public Wi-Fi hotspots, protect your privacy with hotspot shield

Ok, public Wi-Fi hotspots are great but... but they are extremely dangerous for your privacy and your sensible datas like credit card etc.. The solution to this problem consists that we have to create a VPN network between your laptop and the wireless router.

Hotspot Shield is a free security software that creates a virtual private network (VPN) and do this for us. This impenetrable tunnel created with the VPN prevents snoopers and hackers from viewing our email, instant messages, sniff our credit card information or anything else that we send over a wireless network.
Which means you remain anonymous and protect your privacy.

Hotspot Shield security software is free to download. Check it out.

Here's a video demo about it.

Microsoft Free World Wide Telescope. Video & Download

''Want to see the same images that scientists at NASA use for their research or perform your own research with those images? Or do you want to see the Earth from the same perspective that astronauts see as they descend to Earth? How about taking a 5 minute break and viewing a panorama of a different city? Install WWT and start your explorations.''

Those words are taken from the official website of the project worldwidetelescope.org

The Worldwide Telescope site also offers guided tours, hosted by astronomers and academics, of galactic destinations such as the Milky Way, the Eta Carina Nebula and the darker reaches of the galaxy and is totally free.

Roy Gould, a researcher at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics - a partner in the site, said the application could have a "profound impact on the way we view the universe".

How to implement a tag cloud in blogger / blogspot

If you'd like to implement a sort of tag cloud instead of your tags list or labels list, you have to follow those 3 steps:

Remember to make a backup of your template before you doing something.

Then, the first thing to do is to add in the css of your template, exactly before:

]] </b:skin>

Add This piece of css:

#labelCloud {text-align:left;font-family:arial,sans-serif;}
#labelCloud .label-cloud li{display:inline;background-image:none !important;padding:0 5px;margin:0;vertical-align:baseline !important;border:0 !important;}
#labelCloud ul{list-style-type:none;margin:0 auto;padding:0;}
#labelCloud a img{border:0;display:inline;margin:0 0 0 3px;padding:0}
#labelCloud a{text-decoration:none}
#labelCloud a:hover{text-decoration:underline}
#labelCloud li a{}
#labelCloud .label-cloud {}
#labelCloud .label-count {padding-left:0.2em;font-size:9px;color:#000}
#labelCloud .label-cloud li:before{content:"" !important}

The second step is to insert in before the end of the tag </head>

<script type='text/javascript'>
// Label Cloud User Variables
var cloudMin = 3; // Min count tags
var maxFontSize = 20;
var maxColor = [0,0,255];
var minFontSize = 10;
var minColor = [0,0,0];
var lcShowCount = true; // show the numbs of post with that label
</script>

And the last step consists finding widget id='Label1', expand the widget and substitute that line with the follows:

<b:widget id='Label1' locked='false' title='Label Cloud' type='Label'>
<b:includable id='main'>
<b:if cond='data:title'>
<h2><data:title/></h2>
</b:if>

<div class='widget-content'>
<div id='labelCloud'/>
<script type='text/javascript'>

// Don't change anything past this point -----------------
// Cloud function s() ripped from del.icio.us
function s(a,b,i,x){
if(a>b){
var m=(a-b)/Math.log(x),v=a-Math.floor(Math.log(i)*m)
}
else{
var m=(b-a)/Math.log(x),v=Math.floor(Math.log(i)*m+a)
}
return v
}

var c=[];
var labelCount = new Array();
var ts = new Object;
<b:loop values='data:labels' var='label'>
var theName = "<data:label.name/>";
ts[theName] = <data:label.count/>;
</b:loop>

for (t in ts){
if (!labelCount[ts[t]]){
labelCount[ts[t]] = new Array(ts[t])
}
}
var ta=cloudMin-1;
tz = labelCount.length - cloudMin;
lc2 = document.getElementById('labelCloud');
ul = document.createElement('ul');
ul.className = 'label-cloud';
for(var t in ts){
if(ts[t] < cloudMin){
continue;
}
for (var i=0;3 > i;i++) {
c[i]=s(minColor[i],maxColor[i],ts[t]-ta,tz)
}
var fs = s(minFontSize,maxFontSize,ts[t]-ta,tz);
li = document.createElement('li');
li.style.fontSize = fs+'px';
li.style.lineHeight = '1';
a = document.createElement('a');
a.title = ts[t]+' Posts in '+t;
a.style.color = 'rgb('+c[0]+','+c[1]+','+c[2]+')';
a.href = '/search/label/'+encodeURIComponent(t);
if (lcShowCount){
span = document.createElement('span');
span.innerHTML = '('+ts[t]+') ';
span.className = 'label-count';
a.appendChild(document.createTextNode(t));
li.appendChild(a);
li.appendChild(span);
}
else {

The video explains the most important features added in Microsoft Windows 7 and show us this new Operating System.
I don't know if it would be much more secure than the others as XP or Vista but for the moment i couldn't say nothing about it but the team says that security will also be enhanced with applications and external access being placed in a secure sandbox that prevents any effects (i.e. damage or viruses) to other applications and to O.S. itself.

Don't exist any reference in the Microsoft's website under Vienna but exists only something about
Blackcomb.

Blogger: How to remove google blogspot bar.

Though Google provides no "disable button", tons of blogspot users have hidden the navbar on their blog through simple CSS tricks which available for both new Blogger and classic Blogger templates.

The blogger navbar is used for searching within a blog, or flag a site for sure nobody ever uses.
The worst part of all it's not valid XHTML 1.0 Strict, the one reason why my blog is not XHTML 1.0 Strict yet :x

This method remove blogger navbar

This CSS hacks remove the blogger navbar.
All you need to do is add the following piece of code to your template page in between the <head></head> tags

<style type="text/css">
#b-navbar{
height:0px;
visibility:hidden;
display:none;
}
</style>

Else if you use blogger beta

Once again you can use CSS to remove the blogger navbar in Blogger Beta blogs too. Just add the piece of code given below to your blogger template.
This will work only if you are able to edit the template.

<style type="text/css">
#navbar-iframe
{
height:0px;
visibility:hidden;
display:none;
}
</style>

The next important question is whether you are violating any Google policies or Blogger's Terms of Service by removing the navbar ?

The Blogger's TOS page makes no reference to navbar while Google representatives in the Blogger support group (nickname: Blogger Employee) have always ignored discussion threads seeking an official stand on hiding navbar.

So, happy hiding.

Software to make social bookmark sites.

  • Pligg It seems that every hour, a new Pligg-based site is born. Pligg is a PHP/MySQL system that allows visitors to submit websites and blogs for voting or ranking. While very similar to Digg, it does offer some additional features, such as trackback support, automatic title discovery, and RSS import functionality. It also has a small community that is actively working on new mods and templates. Some of the more interesting Pligg-based sites are PlugIM, Sk*rt, Sphinn and Simply Fired.

  • NewsCloud NewsCloud is another content management system that has a story ranking feature. They have also developed a Facebook app for their service, which is open source as well and available for download. The default layout is slightly more newsy than Digg-like.

  • Dolphin: Dolphin, from Boonex, is a popular free community-building application that is being used for a number of dating sites. Many modifications have been developed, however many of them are only available for a fee. There is also a cost associated with removing the company’s links from your site.
  • Drupal with Vote up/down module Most know Drupal as one of the more popular open source content management systems available. Thanks to the user community, several modules have been developed that allow voting of submitted stories. Recruiting.com uses this setup.
  • PHPizabi
  • Elgg: Elgg is an open source social platform based around choice, flexibility and openness: a system that firmly places individuals at the centre of their activities. Your users have the freedom to incorporate all their favorite tools within one environment and showcase their content with as many or as few people as they choose, all within a social networking site that you control.
  • Mugshot: Developed by Red Hat, Mugshot allows you to post what you are reading and listening too, and share it with you friends. Mugshot is a little different, as both the client and server code are open source and available for download.

  • GetBoo GetBoo allows you to save you favorite sites and share them with your friends. It also supports public and private group creation.
